Our center, which was established under the name of "Women's Issues Research and Training Center" with the decision of the Senate Board dated 23.06.1989 and numbered 18-217, is the FIRST women's studies center in Türkiye.
The first General Assembly Meeting of our center was held on 19.12.1989 at 15.30 in the Faculty of Law Board Room. Our first Board of Directors was elected at this meeting.
In 1993, the name of our Center was changed to "Women's Issues Research and Application Center".
In 2017, the name of our Center was changed to "Women's Studies Application and Research Center".
